Natasha Watson, Buro Happold
Natasha is the Climate Emergency Change Manager for Buro Happold’s UK+ regions and as Sustainability Co-Lead for UK+ Structures and Ground. These roles support each other in determining and delivering the systemic change needed to tackle the Climate Emergency at an industry level, organisational level, team level and an individual level.
As well as the technical aspects of tackling the Climate Emergency, Natasha is interested in the wider issues around equity and unconscious bias in the built environment, as well as intersectional environmentalism, which can be seen through her volunteering roles with the IStructE, Built Environment Declares, Design West, and IKB Academy; alongside her engagement with the RSA as a Fellow.
Natasha’s interest in equity in the built environment is growing and developing as a result of her participation in Urban C:Lab, the Buro Happold ‘think tank’, and seeing activism surrounding black lives, trans lives, queer lives, and disabled lives more and more in the mainstream. She is always interested in discussing and understanding more about biases in the built environment, so please don’t hesitate to get in contact.
